Your new role:

As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering advanced, recovery-oriented nursing care to consumers with complex mental health needs. Working both autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will apply expert clinical judgement, provide leadership, and ensure high standards of professional nursing practice. This role offers the opportunity to influence patient outcomes, support system improvements, contribute to education, and engage in research and quality initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver advanced, evidence-based nursing care for consumers experiencing acute mental health concerns.
  • Provide expert physical and mental health assessments, risk assessments, clinical planning, and evaluation of care.
  • Act as a point of professional advice regarding mental health service delivery, Mental Health Act 2016 requirements, and comprehensive assessment principles.
  • Lead and mentor nurses and students, providing guidance, supervision, and role modelling.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and effectively utilise Electronic Medical Records and digital systems.

You are an experienced mental health nurse with advanced clinical skills, strong critical thinking ability, and a passion for delivering safe, compassionate, recovery-focused care. You thrive in complex situations, demonstrate leadership in practice, and positively contribute to a high-performing team culture.

  • Demonstrated ability to practice autonomously and provide expert clinical leadership.
  • High-level skills in mental health assessment, risk management, and care planning.
  • Ability to mentor, supervise, and support RNs, ENs, AINs, and students.
  • A proactive and resilient approach, aligned with organisational values and person-centred care philosophies.
