Formed in 1917, The Queen Elizabeth Centre (QEC) is Victoria’s largest provider of Residential, Community and Home-based early parenting services for families with children from birth to four years of age.

With our Residential Early Parenting Centre in Noble Park and Community home-based services across Victoria, we play a special role in providing parenting education and support to thousands of families every year to give their children the best start in life.  Our programs are research-informed and tailored to meet the unique needs of each family and enable families to nurture, protect and enhance their children’s, safety, health and development.

The role

We are keen to hear from early childhood and community services professionals with a passion for the work we do. As an Early Parenting Practitioner, you will work part time (0.6 - 0.8 FTE), rotating shift roster providing specialised support, care and education to enhance families' parenting competencies. You will be responsible for improving parents' knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as build the ability of parents to meet their children's health, safety and developmental needs.

About you

To be considered for this role you will need to demonstrate:

• A relevant tertiary qualification in Early Childhood Development, Infant Mental Health, Enrolled Nurse (Mothercraft Nurse) or equivalent qualification in a human services discipline, at diploma level or higher.
• Experience in working with families in the health/welfare sector and in the early parenting period.
• Experience working in community settings such as home-based family services and/or long day childcare
• An understanding of child development and the factors that can impede a child’s development.
