The Team:

The Royal Hobart Hospital is Tasmania’s largest hospital, and the Immunology & Allergy Unit (incorporating the Jack Jumper Allergy Program) within the RHH is the tertiary referral centre for all public Immunology & Allergy referrals in Tasmania. As the major clinical teaching and research centre, RHH works closely with the University of Tasmania and other institutions.  All our services work closely together to focus on delivering excellence in healthcare to achieve improved outcomes for our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community.

The Role:

Strengthens health outcomes through the provision of safe, quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in
partnership with patients/clients, their families and other health professionals within the defined practice area.

You will need:

  • Current knowledge of and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in the designated practice area (Allergy and Immunology) in line with the legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Council (ANMC) National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
  • Experience in the emergency management of anaphylaxis, Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification or ability to acquire this, together with well-developed cannulation and phlebotomy skills. 
  • Demonstrated ability to apply documentation and data collection skills in both research and nursing practice together with high level communication and organisational skills.

Details of appointment:

Fixed term, part time, day worker position, working up to 16 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible for approximately nine (9) months.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.

Location: Hobart, Tasmania

Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type
