Mechanical Fitter – Kewdale, WA

Challenge Pumps is a leading force in dewatering pump supply and service, supporting mining operations throughout Australia and abroad. With continued growth across our operations, we are seeking an experienced Mechanical Fitter to join our team in Kewdale.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who takes pride in their work, can adapt to varied tasks throughout the day, and enjoys being part of a small, supportive team.
Key Responsibilities:
Mechanical repairs, servicing, and assembly of dewatering pumps and associated equipment
Hydrostatic pressure testing
Assisting with new system builds and general workshop duties
Fitting pipework, valves, and related components
Painting and preparation work where required
Store-based tasks, including packing, despatch, and loading/unloading trucks
Skills & Attributes:
Trade-qualified with previous experience in a mechanical fitting role
Prior pump experience is highly regarded but not essential
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
Ability to multitask and manage varying workshop tasks
Capable of working within a small team and occasionally unsupervised
Excellent housekeeping standards and a strong safety mindset
Competency with pipework, valves, and associated fittings
Current forklift licence (up to 10 tonnes) – essential
Current driver’s licence and reliable transport – essential
