Our client is looking to onboard an experienced Training Specialist in one of their several locations, for a contract term, with opportunity for future extension.

Position Title: Training Specialist
Position Location Options: Canberra, Melbourne or Brisbane
Contract Completion Date: 30 June 2026 (with potential for up to 2x 12-month extensions)
Casual Hourly Rate: $60.00 - $68.00
Work Model: Hybrid/Flexible with on-site in-office and remote working combination available
Hours: Fulltime (up to 40) hours per week.


Job Overview:

  • The Training Specialist plays a key role in the Stakeholder Engagement, Education and Change stream within a branch of a reform program. The positions’ primary purpose is the development, production and delivery of engaging and accessible education content across a variety of platforms, for internal and external stakeholders who connect with the program.

  • You will collaborate with Education, Training Specialists and subject matter experts who are tasked with the delivery of high-quality digital education products, such as e-learning modules, videos, animations and podcasts, along with programs, workshops and education materials that meet the needs of our audience, accessibility requirements and government standards.

  • Working as part of a dynamic and fast-paced team, you'll be responsible for developing and delivering internal/external training products. You will need to engage with regulatory and technical subject matter experts to gather and synthesise detailed information.

  • You will be required to develop, produce and deliver simple, clear and accessible content across a range of media, to craft succinct and engaging programs, modules and educational materials for a complex mix of stakeholders.

  • You will be a self-starter, who will take responsibility for devising and executing strategy, delivering quality products that assist stakeholders to understand the framework, key elements and workings this reform represents, understanding the significance and strategic impact your work will have.


Mandatory Criteria:

  • Proven experience in the development, production and delivery of workplace training and assessment, and external stakeholder capability uplift, ideally within a regulatory setting.

  • High standards of interpersonal communication and organisational skills – with ability to identify and organise resources to achieve results.

  • Experience producing education, communication and /or training strategies incorporating the principles of user-centred design and managing their successful implementation against identified KPIs.

  • Strong writing, editing and proof-reading experience, combined with expert language skill, allowing you to create material that will inspire our internal and external stakeholders.

  • The ability to translate complex information into easy-to-understand messages.

  • High-level organisational and priority-setting skills and the proven ability to meet tight deadlines – ideally within a project management environment.

  • The ability to work collaboratively with a range of stakeholders internally and with a range of high-profile external stakeholder groups.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint Suite is a must. Knowledge of course authoring tools like Adobe Captivate, animation and video editing software advantageous.

  • National criminal history check certificate (or willing to obtain)

  • Hold minimum baseline AGSVA Security Clearance

  • Candidate must have Australian Citizenship and possess political neutrality
