We are seeking an experienced and driven Supervisor Parks and Gardens (Turf, Trails, and Verges) to join our Parks & Gardens team. This hands-on leadership role oversees the delivery of high-quality turf,Parks, verge and natural area maintenance, supervising a team of Town Maintenance Officers and assisting in the management of service contractors.
You will work closely with other Supervisors and report directly to the Coordinator Parks & Environment.
In this role you will have the following accountabilities:
- Supervise scheduled and reactive maintenance activities across turf, parks, trails, verges, and natural areas.
- Support and develop a team of Town Maintenance Officers through mentoring and performance management.
- Coordinate resourcing needs, participate in recruitment and ensure adequate team coverage.
- Monitor work quality and conduct inspections to ensure high standards.
- Assist in managing relevant service contracts and chemical use for pest control operations.
- Maintain accurate records and provide high-quality customer service.
Our preferred candidates will be able to demonstrate the following qualifications and skillset:
Essential:
- Proven supervisory skills and experience in Parks and Gardens or similar field.
- Extensive experience in turf, parks and ovals, and natural area maintenance, including quality control.
- Strong planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage time and meet deadlines.
- Experience in creating and working to maintenance schedules
- Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- A customer-first mindset with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Current "MR" class driver's licence.
Desirable:
- Qualifications in Horticulture, Arboriculture, Turf Management, or similar.
- AHCPGD311 - Conduct Operational Inspection of Park Facilities.
- Certificate IV in Frontline Management or similar.
- Experience in pesticide management to WA Department of Health Guidelines.
- Ability to interpret Parks & Gardens plans and specifications.
- Experience using Technology One software.
- First Aid Certification.
- "HR" class driver's licence.
