Gold Road Personnel are a West Perth based company, specialising in recruitment within the Mining & Resources sector.
On behalf of one of our clients, a mid-tier gold producer with a growing presence in Western Australia, we are seeking an OHS Advisor with previous underground mining experience to join their team at an underground mining operation in the Mid-West Region.
Salary & General Details:
- Permanent Position
- 8/6 Roster available FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton

Requirements to be considered:
- Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety (minimum)
- Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40122 or equivalent).
- Underground mining experience is essential
- Strong understanding of WHS legislation and risk management principles.
- Experience with incident investigation such as ICAM
- Proficient in OHST management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, INX and Pronto.
- WA Driver’s Licence (manual C Class)
- Provide a National Police Clearance
- Be prepared to undergo a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
About the Role:
A full position description can be provided upon application, however duties include but are not limited to;
- Conduct workplace inspections, verification audits, hazard identification and risk assessments, and recommend corrective actions.
- Lead incident investigations, prepare reports, and assist in implementing and tracking corrective and preventative actions.
- Assist with maintaining and reviewing the site Safety Management System (SMS), relevant Management Plans and associated procedures.
- Monitor and analyse safety performance data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
- Conduct and/or participate in work place audits, risk assessments of site work activities and conditions, including high risk tasks and shutdown activities.
- Assist in leading, drafting and presenting accident/incident investigations and reports.
- Carry out targeted OHS training as identified through audits, inspections, task observations, compile statistical reports on injuries, type, frequency, trends, and actions.
- Assist with compiling selected EOM OHS and Workers Compensation statistics and reports.
- Provide specialist advice on workplace health and safety matters to ensure compliance with WHS legislation, Codes of Practice, and Australian and company standards.
