An exciting opportunity exists for a commercially astute Senior Financial Controller to join a high-growth, market-leading fashion retailer. Reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the CFO, this is a key role within the business sitting on the ELT.
The Opportunity:
As Financial Controller, you will lead and oversee the financial operations of the Australian business. You’ll manage a team and be instrumental in providing clear financial insight and driving commercial decisions across the wider business.
This role requires someone who is not only technically strong but also hands-on, adaptable and an excellent communicator. You’ll be trusted to make important decisions independently while also contributing to the broader growth strategy of the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all financial operations in Australia, ensuring robust controls, compliance, and reporting.
- Partner with the CEO, Group CFO, and senior stakeholders to drive financial performance and strategic decision-making.
- Lead and mentor a team including accountant, assistant accountant, accounts payable, and payroll.
- Deliver clear financial insights and simplify complex data for non-finance stakeholders.
- Support integration of climate-related financial reporting standards and sustainability compliance into the finance function.
- Take a hands-on approach to resolving challenges and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations.
- Proven experience in a senior finance leadership role, ideally in retail, fashion, or a fast-paced consumer business.
- A qualified accountant (CA/CPA or equivalent) with strong technical expertise.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams through change and growth.
- Commercially minded, with the ability to translate financials into actionable insights.
- Hands-on and adaptable, comfortable rolling up your sleeves when needed.
- Strong communication skills, able to partner with both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Awareness of emerging climate-related financial disclosure standards and ability to integrate sustainability into reporting.
- Salary package of up to $250,000 + super + bonus and perks
