Buoy Café is a young, vibrant café in the heart of Nobby’s Beach. Just a year old and already buzzing, we’re known for serving award-winning specialty coffee on a Slayer machine with Ubermilk, matched with friendly service and a chilled coastal vibe.
We’re on the hunt for a Head Barista and Café All-Rounders to join our growing team as we gear up for an epic summer. If you’re passionate about coffee, thrive in fast-paced environments, and want to work where the ocean is just steps away, this is the role for you.
Head Barista (Full-Time Role)
We’re looking for someone who can take ownership of our coffee program and deliver the consistency and quality our locals love.
You’ll bring:
- 2+ years’ barista experience in a high-volume specialty café
- Strong technical skills and dial-in knowledge (latte art a plus)
- A passion for delivering top-tier coffee and guest experiences
- Leadership qualities — coaching and guiding the team behind the machine
- A positive, can-do attitude and love for the hospo buzz
Café All-Rounders (Full-Time / Part-Time / Casual)
The energy of our café doesn’t just come from the coffee machine. We need customer-focused legends who can keep service smooth, fun, and friendly.
You’ll be:
- Confident on POS and on the floor
- Happy engaging with customers and creating a welcoming vibe
- Quick on your feet and calm under pressure
- A team player who knows when to hustle and when to smile

The Details
Location: Nobby’s Beach, between Broadbeach & Burleigh, near the new tram station
Hours: 4:30am – 3pm, 7 days a week (weekend availability essential)
