The Company
Our client is one of Australia’s leading automation providers, delivering innovative control and automation solutions across industries including mining, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, oil & gas, and more. Based in a modern facility in Welshpool, our client supports both local and global businesses with turnkey automation solutions—from PLC and SCADA to hazardous area systems, mobile equipment, and power control systems.
The Equipment
Our client designs and manufactures a wide variety of custom-built automation and electrical systems in-house. The work typically revolves around high-spec vehicle fit-outs, control panels, CANbus systems, and industrial electrical integration.
You will be working in a small team or autonomously, using detailed manufacturing documents and electrical schematics to assist with the assembly and installation of components such as:
Control panels and wiring harnesses
Vehicle-mounted PLCs and sensors
CANbus-based automation systems
Lighting, switching, and diagnostic systems
Power supply units and instrumentation
The Candidate
We are seeking an Auto Electrical Trades Assistant with at least 1 year of experience in a hands-on TA role, preferably in an electrical environment. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow within a high-performing automation team.
Candidates with experience in the following roles are strongly encouraged to apply:
Auto Electrical TA
Electrical Assembly TA
Essential Criteria:
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and wiring diagrams
Valid C Class WA driver’s licence (manual preferred)
Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks
Ability to pass ongoing drug & alcohol screening
Desirable Traits & Skills:
Confidence using power tools and basic hand tools
Experience installing instruments and control systems, including wiring, tubing, and calibration
Experience measuring, cutting, and installing steel or poly conduit/cable supports
Long-term work attitude – seeking ongoing employment
Strong communication skills (verbal and written)
Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
A proactive, self-starting mindset with solid problem-solving skills
Positive, team-focused attitude
Working Days & Hours:
Monday – Friday
Choose between: 6:00am – 2:30pm (40-hour week) or 6:00am – 3:30pm (45-hour week)
Remuneration
This is a Temp-to-Perm opportunity. You will initially be employed by Staff-Net, and after a successful 4 to 6-month period, may be offered the opportunity to transition to a permanent role with our client.
Casual Pay Rate: $36.00 – $38.00 flat rate + super
