Who We Are:
We are a privately owned family business with a solid reputation in the Scrap Metal Recycling Industry. Our primary function is the collection and processing of scrap metal to supply both domestic and international industries that require end-of-life metals to produce new products.
What are we looking for?
We are seeking a reliable and experienced Excavator Operator who is safety-focused, self-motivated, and customer-service driven. The right person will be flexible, able to prioritise tasks, and bring a positive, can-do attitude to work every day. You must be well-mannered and well-presented. Weekend work may be required on occasion. This is a position we want YOU to take ownership of.
Qualifications and skills:
A valid driver’s licence and relevant machinery tickets/certificates
Proven experience operating Material Handler, Excavator, and Front End-loader
LF (Forklift) ticket preferred
Ability to follow safe operating procedures and comply with company policies
Team player with a strong work ethic
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to safe work practices
Previous experience in Scrap Metal (Highly favorable)
Responsibilities: -
Operate various types of plant and equipment safely and confidently
Load and unload customer vehicles
Check and secure loads appropriately
Assist in maintaining a safe and tidy work environment
Participate in safety initiatives (e.g., pre-starts, toolbox talks, incident reporting)
Conduct basic maintenance duties
Work Environment: -
Fast-Paced Scrap Metal Yard
PPE provided
Hours: Monday to Friday, 6:00am to 4:00pm (occasional weekends required)
Please Note:
If you do not meet the criteria for the Excavator Operator role, but you hold a valid Forklift (LF) licence, you may still be considered for a General Labourer position (different rate).
