We are looking for acasual console operator to join our team of mechanics and console operators in our family run service station located next to a small neighbourhood shopping centre. As the major point of contact with our customers, you would need to have outstanding customer service skills. This role is also responsible for the safety and security of the driveway and pump area so you would need excellent observation skills. Our vision is to provide high quality automotive services in a village setting. Class 1 Drivers license essential.
Your duties would be;
Customer Service
Promote and maintain a positive organizational image and good community relations
Answer telephone in a polite and timely manner and transfer call to appropriate staff member
Contact customers by phone after their car has been serviced
Provide quality customer service
Report to the Manager in a timely manner on issues likely to influence desired outcomes and good customer relations
Maintain a neat and tidy appearance
Shop
Open and close the service station according to established procedures
Park cars in workshop at night that have not been collected by customers
Handle cash accurately
Ensure only a minimum of cash is kept on hand and remainder placed in safe
Monitor driveway and shop to ensure that all purchases of fuel or other items are paid for. Where possible record car registration numbers and make of car for vehicles where fuel has not been paid for
Operate banking terminal and console according to established procedures
Complete end of shift procedures (balance, cash up, report equipment faults or other problems)
Order specific stock items
Maintain cleanliness of shop area
Fuel
Take Dips on all fuel tanks and record results
Fill gas bottles
Liaise with tanker drivers when fuel is delivered
Team Work
Assist others and cooperate with your co-workers
Carry out other tasks as required by the team to ensure the team’s effectiveness and efficiency
Workplace Health and Safety
Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the obligations detailed in the Workplace Health and Safety Act and Regulations Hours
Casual – average 7.5 hours per shift
