Security Operations Coordinator

ABOUT THE POSITION:
We’re seeking an experienced and proactive Security Operations Coordinator to lead the day-to-day operations of our security services. This role is responsible for developing and implementing policies, managing and training security staff, resolving operational issues, and ensuring alignment between service delivery and strategic goals.
You'll serve as a critical link between internal stakeholders and contracted providers, applying advanced knowledge and a solutions-focused mindset to maintain high standards of safety, compliance, and efficiency across MV sites.
Some of the key duties include:
Team Leadership & Development
Oversee and support security personnel across shifts
Deliver training, monitor KPIs, and provide performance feedback
Develop and implement clear policies and service protocols
Incident & Risk Management
Investigate and report on security incidents
Identify and resolve complex operational challenges
Recommend improvements to procedures and policy
Operational Oversight
Monitor rosters, resource allocation, and operational coverage
Manage basic service agreements with guarding and systems providers
Track and manage overtime, ensuring budgetary efficiency
Collaboration & Communication
Liaise with the Security Operations Centre and relevant managers
Ensure timely and accurate shift reporting
Promote consistency and alignment across teams
The successful applicant will have:
You’re a confident leader with a deep understanding of security operations and the ability to think strategically while managing day-to-day tasks. You thrive in dynamic environments, are solutions-focused, and committed to continuous improvement in safety and security standards.
Strong leadership and communication skills
Experience in security operations, incident reporting, and rostering
Certificate II in Security, or PSP® (Physical Security Professional) certification
Valid Victorian Driver’s Licence
Understanding of Security Operation Centres process and procedures
Experience working within a large culture organisation
Experience working with high value assets and the ability to created Security Plans
Experience working with key stakeholders to develop key risk controls on temporary assets
High level of attention to detail and ability to handle sensitive data
Calm, practical, and professional in high-pressure situations
Ability and willingness to undergo and pass a National Police Records Check and Working with Children Check (applicant costs apply).

Employment Type: Ongoing: Full-time
Classification: Grade 4; Value Range 1 ($92,332 base of grade plus statutory superannuation)
Reports To: Manager, Security Operations
Operational hours: 09:30 - 17:30 hours
