What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for a full-time position of Team Member Supply Chain Management Team within the AFP Logistics Command.

The Supply Chain Management Team is a corporate support area operating in a warehouse environment and is responsible for the lifecycle management of assets such as ballistic vests, batons and handcuffs as well as facilitating freight movements both domestically and internationally.

As a Team Member, you will be expected to assist the Team Leader in achieving the goals and outcomes of the Logistics Command Strategic Plans in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

  • Facilitate the preparation of freight consignments and accompanying documentation and, where applicable, ensuring adherence to Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR) and WHS requirements
  • Perform physical warehouse stock movements via forklift or manual handling methods
  • Effectively maintain inventory/assets in AFP corporate systems utilising the Inventory Management System (IMS) and asset modules in SAP
  • Conduct physical and systematic stocktakes and disposal activities
  • Ensure compliance with AFP Governance instruments and standard operating procedures
  • Provide consistent high quality customer service to internal AFP and external stakeholders that builds a positive reputation and trust in the business area
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of current Logistics procedures to enhance workplace efficiencies
  • Adapt readily to changing processes and apply innovative thinking to solve problems effectively
  • Support the Team Leader in making sound decisions to achieve successful outcomes
  • Other duties as required, consistent with AFP Band 4 Work Level Standards

Essential Requirements

  • You must be an Australian Citizen at the time of application
  • Minimum Cert III in Logistics or equivalent industry experience
  • Forklift licence or ability to obtain one
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Excel and Word
  • NV1 Security clearance or ability to obtain one

Desirable Requirements

  • Dangerous Goods Shippers Qualification or ability to obtain
  • Experience in stock management principles
  • Ability to analyse data and problem solve using critical thinking
