About the role

We are seeking an experienced Quarry Operations Manager to join our team at Local Mix Concrete Pty Ltd in Geelong, Victoria. As the Quarry Operations Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our quarry operations, ensuring efficient and compliant production to support our concrete manufacturing business. This is a full-time position based in Geelong.

What you'll be doing

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the quarry, including production planning, scheduling, and resource allocation

• Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations

• Develop and implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and productivity

• Monitor and analyse quarry performance metrics to identify areas for improvement

• Lead and manage a team of quarry operators and support staff

• Collaborate with the concrete manufacturing team to align operations and meet customer demands

• Maintain accurate records and reporting on all quarry activities

• Continuously seek opportunities to innovate and implement new technologies or processes

• Reporting to the General Manager of Local Mix Quarries

What we're looking for

• Significant experience (5+ years) in quarry operations management or a similar role within the mining, resources, or construction materials industry

• Strong technical knowledge of quarry equipment, processes, and best practices

• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in data analysis and reporting to drive continuous improvement

• Thorough understanding of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and compliance requirements

• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work autonomously

• Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, operations management, or a related field
