Yeah Nah Yeah is a locally-loved, family-run daytime café known for its friendly vibe, consistently good food, and a no-BS approach to hospitality. We focus on seasonal, fresh, and honest food that keeps locals coming back.
We’re not about ego — just good food, good people, and good coffee. We’re expanding our kitchen team and looking for a Head Chef to lead the charge.
The RoleAs Head Chef, you'll be steering the kitchen operations — from menu planning and prep to service and team management. Working closely with the owners (yep, it’s a proper family business), you’ll have creative input and real support, not just a title.
Your days will include:
Running the kitchen like a well-oiled machine
Designing seasonal menus with input from the owners
Managing food cost, portion control, and supplier relationships
Leading a small kitchen team with fairness and good humour
Keeping things clean, safe, and compliant
Helping build a fun, respectful culture in the back of house
A confident chef with leadership experience in cafés or fast-paced day venues
Able to manage a small team, mentor junior staff, and handle the heat
Creative with menus, and comfortable balancing cost with quality
Reliable, calm under pressure, and good with people
Happy to work weekdays and weekends on a rotating 5-day roster
Bonus points if you’ve worked in a family-run biz before!
