Opening Soon — A Fresh Japanese Hospitality Experience in the Heart of Barangaroo
Aori is a new hospitality concept built on warmth, precision, and pride in craft. We’re assembling a team of professionals who thrive in fast-paced service, care deeply about presentation, and bring a sense of ownership to their work. Experience with Japanese cuisine, service style, or cultural sensibilities is highly regarded across all positions.
Positions Available
Sous Chef
A hands-on leader with strong technical skills and team mentorship experience. You’ll support the Head Chef in managing kitchen operations, training staff, and maintaining consistency across service.
$85,000–$90,000/year depending on experience + tips
Grill Chef
Focused, consistent, and passionate about open flame cooking. You’ll lead the grill section with precision, uphold presentation standards, and collaborate on menu development. Experience with high-volume service and protein handling essential. $75,000–$80,000/year depending on experience + tips
Chef de Partie
Experienced chefs with strong station leadership and consistency. You’ll execute dishes to spec, mentor junior staff, and contribute to menu development.
$65,000–$68,000/year depending on experience + tips
Demis / Commis
Eager learners with solid fundamentals. You’ll prep, plate, and grow under the guidance of senior chefs. Great opportunity for career progression.
$60,000–$65,000/year depending on experience + tips
Kitchen Hands & Dishwashers
The backbone of the kitchen—efficient, reliable, and proactive. You’ll maintain cleanliness, assist with prep, and support the team during peak service.
$27–$30/hr + tips
