The Role
The Town of Port Hedland is seeking a proactive and experienced professional to lead the delivery of its Community Safety Plan and related initiatives on a 12 Month Fixed-Term Basis (commencing January 2026). This role plays a key part in enhancing public safety and perception through strategic partnerships, education, and collaboration across all levels of government, industry, and the community.
You'll coordinate multi-agency efforts, support governance groups, and provide expert advice to Council, internal teams, and external stakeholders. Your work will include developing education strategies, managing stakeholder agreements, preparing reports and funding submissions, and evaluating the effectiveness of safety programs.
To succeed, you'll bring strong experience in community safety, crime prevention, or alcohol and drug management, along with excellent facilitation, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills. A background in policy development, program coordination, and data-driven evaluation will be highly regarded.
