Your Opportunity

We’re seeking a qualified Painter to join our Mackay depot, where you’ll play a key role in refurbishing schools, public buildings, and social housing. From restoring heritage buildings to modernising workspaces, your work will directly impact the local community. You’ll also assist with emergency response efforts and collaborate with government partners to expand QBuild’s services across Mackay and surrounding regions.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Painting qualification (Certificate III in Painting and Decorating) – if you're not qualified, this role isn’t for you
  • Experience in surface preparation, finishing techniques, and coatings
  • A commitment to workplace safety and high-quality craftsmanship
  • A willingness to use digital tools, yes, even painters need to check emails
  • A passion for mentoring apprentices and passing on your skills
