Start your Peadiatric Occupational Therapy Career at Bright Bugs Therapy!
Bright Bugs Therapy is on the lookout for an enthusiastic, full-time Paediatric Occupational Therapist to join our small, friendly, neuro-affirming private practice in Toowoomba, QLD.
We’re dedicated to your professional growth and well-being, ensuring you have the tools, resources, and support to succeed from day one. We don’t place emphasis on years of experience — instead, we’re looking for passionate, values-driven people who share our commitment to empowering clients to thrive and reach their goals.
Itinerant/Mobile Role: Support Children and Families across a variety of settings whether this be in our clinic space, at client's homes, schools, or out in the community.
Work with children aged 0-17 years across a wide range of developmental and neurodevelopmental needs.
A versatile work day supporting three to four people each day.
Plan and deliver fun, creative, high-quality therapy plans during individual sessions, group sessions, and family consultations.
Position commences in January 2026
We believe in a compensation package that reflects your value and supports your professional and personal life.
Competitive Salary: An above-award starting wage of $85,000 - $120,000 per year. This is higher than the national entry-level average of $80,000.
Professional Development (PD) Budget: Up to $2,000 per year for formal PD opportunities, and you can also complete PD during work hours with no set limit.
Travel Reimbursements: As travel is an essential part of the role, we offer a reimbursement of $0.88 per kilometre to support you in delivering services within the community.
Clinical Resources: On commencement, we provide a comprehensive resource package to help you deliver creative and engaging therapy. This includes a laptop, phone, and iPad, as well as a wide range of therapy materials and activities to support the development of individualised and meaningful therapy plans for clients on your caseload. You'll also have access to a variety of standardised assessments to enhance your clinical practice.
Structured Onboarding Process - You'll benefit from a clear, supportive onboarding experience with a gradual build-up of your caseload. As a new graduate, you’ll have opportunities to shadow our senior therapists and learn through observation and collaboration. Over the first few months, you’ll steadily build up to a full-time caseload of around 3–4 clients per day. This gradual approach allows you the time to plan sessions, consolidate your skills, and refine your note-taking and report writing — ensuring you feel confident, prepared, and ready to deliver high-quality services.
Supportive Clinical Mentorship - You will have access to weekly 1:1 mentoring and supervision with our experienced lead Occupational Therapist, PD planning and support, and monthly development sessions to facilitate your growth and career development.
Flexibility and Autonomy - Enjoy control over your schedule, case load, and work settings. We will work with you to create a schedule that suits your lifestyle and a fulfilling balanced caseload that aligns with your interests and clinical strengths.
A Focus on Family Centred Practice - Build strong and meaningful connections with children and their families through individualised, evidence based therapy across home, school and community settings.
Small Team - As part of our close-knit team, you'll enjoygreater access to our lead therapist, allowing for more frequent mentoring, hands-on support, and collaborative problem-solving. This means more immediate guidance when you need it, more opportunities to learn, and a truly supportive environment where you're never just a number.
