About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Finance, you’ll play a key role in maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and supporting audits and reconciliations. This is a hands-on role ideal for someone with strong accounting fundamentals and a passion for community impact.
Assistant Accountant
Remote (QLD-based)
Full-time | Fixed-Term 12-month Contract
Key Responsibilities:
- Daily bank reconciliations and cashflow management
- General ledger maintenance and journal entries
- Balance sheet and revenue recognition reconciliations
- Support month-end reporting and audits
- Assist with Fringe Benefits Tax Return preparation
- Provide coverage for Accounts Payable/Receivable during peak periods
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
What You’ll Bring
- 2+ years’ experience in accounting/finance
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (or currently studying)
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in accounting software and systems
- Excellent attention to detail and documentation skills
Practical Requirements
- QLD C Class Driver’s Licence
- Current Blue Card (or willingness to obtain)
- Satisfactory Police Check
- Flexibility to travel and stay overnight in remote areas
- Willingness to travel by road and small aircraft
