Are you working toward a degree in accounting or a recent accounting graduate? 

We are seeking interest for a full-time Assistant Accountant opportunity located on-site in our offices in Lismore, NSW.

The salary is negotiable based on qualifications, skills and relevant experience. As a guide, a salary range of $69,000 to $77,500 for recent graduates, and $62,000 to $72,000 for those working towards their accounting degree. 

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation and analysis of management accounts and financial reports.

  • Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts, and BAS preparation and lodgement.

  • Assist with monthly bank/general ledger reconciliations and accounts payable/receivable functions.

  • Assist with the review, analysis, and annual reporting on business divisions within the Diocese.

  • Collate and provide financial information to entities and auditors. 

Selection criteria
  1. Working towards an accounting degree or recent graduate (essential).

  2. High level of attention to detail and the ability to quickly and accurately process financial information.

  3. Proven ability to solve problems and exercise analytical thinking.

  4. General technology skills, including knowledge in MS Office suite and accounting software.

  5. Strong interpersonal skills, exceptional professionalism and presentation. 

  6. Ability to work within the values and mission of the Catholic Church, such as desire to serve others, treating people with care, empathy and compassion, and respect of the diverse beliefs in our communities.
