Are you passionate about inspiring and creating opportunities for young people? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 3/4 Teacher to join our College to ensure our students flourish in their learning. Experience in the areas of physical education and sport would be an advantage. This is a unique chance to make a meaningful impact in a remote community while sharing your expertise in a supportive and rewarding environment.
This is an outstanding opportunity for you to join our thoroughly innovative team at Gulf Christian College, Normanton. You will enjoy the opportunities found in a small school environment as well as experiencing ‘Outback Australia’.
We are a Prep to Year 11 school of 110 amazing students, with an Indigenous enrolment of approximately 84%. In 2026 we are excited to introduce Year 12 students into our school community.
Have you ever thought of living and working remotely and experiencing all that Outback Australia has to offer? We encourage our teachers to work with their strengths and share their gifts and talents with our students and College community.
The successful applicant will need to be experienced in Industrial Technology and be able to demonstrate a high level of teaching practice, have a thorough knowledge of curriculum and pedagogy, and possess a strong commitment to Christian Education.
This full-time role will commence in January 2026 and be an intrinsic member of our College team. You will be replacing a staff member who is taking 12 months leave of absence, with a strong chance of your contact continuing, if desired.
A generous salary package is offered, including modern fully furnished accommodation (potential shared arrangement) with significant rental subsidy, allowances for remote living, annual travel reimbursement and relocation allowances. We are here to help you every step of the way.
Our College practices are based on Biblical Christian principles and values. Our staff embrace the Christian ethos of our College, as we teach, guide and direct the lives of our students.
