As Chief Finance Officer, you will report to the executive leadership of a government infrastructure agency, advising the Director-General, Deputy Director-General and senior stakeholders on budget planning, financial reporting, compliance and performance. You will lead a skilled finance team, oversee statutory obligations under the Financial Management Act, and guide financial decision-making across the division.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver strategic financial advice to executive and ministerial levels
- Lead the directorate’s budget planning, internal controls and financial performance
- Oversee reporting, forecasting, cashflow and cost allocations
- Ensure compliance with government policy, legislation and probity requirements
- Represent the organisation in whole-of-government financial forums
- Manage improvement initiatives across systems and processes
- Build and lead a high-performing finance team with clear vision and accountability
You Will Bring- CPA, CA or CIMA qualification (mandatory)
- Extensive senior-level finance leadership in public sector or delivery organisations
- Strong command of financial governance, government processes and risk frameworks
- Ability to deliver strategic insights from financial data
- Collaborative leadership style, with credibility across executive and stakeholder groups
- High ethical standards and commitment to transparent public service
