Project Engineer – TfNSW (Hay, NSW) Daily rate: $1,000 per day + Super

About the roles Transport for NSW is seeking two experienced
Project Engineers to join the regional delivery team based in
Hay, NSW, working on a
road rehabilitation project.
- 1 x Project Engineer – 5-week contract (possible extension), minimum 5 years’ experience delivering infrastructure projects.
- 1 x Project Engineer – until January 2026 (high possibility of extension), minimum 10 years’ experience delivering infrastructure projects.
You’ll be responsible for delivering
maintenance and civil works, including
heavy patching and rehabilitation of approximately 50 km of roads, managing
six crews with support from
two supervisors.
All work is on-site (no WFH).
Key Responsibilities - Coordinate and deliver assigned civil and infrastructure works across multiple project sites.
- Ensure safety, quality, and environmental compliance meet TfNSW standards.
- Manage crews, supervise contractors, and liaise with stakeholders to achieve project goals.
- Prepare project documentation, monitor progress, and report on cost, schedule, and risk.
- Support construction supervision and resolve technical issues as they arise.
About You You’re a proactive engineer with a strong background in
civil infrastructure delivery, capable of managing teams and complex works across remote regional sites.
Essential Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- 5–10 years’ experience delivering infrastructure projects (depending on role).
- Current White Card (mandatory).
- WOF and Traffic Control tickets (or willingness to obtain at own cost).
- Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across regional sites.
- Prior Local or State Government experience highly regarded.
