Position Purpose
Financial Accountant reports to the Finance Manager, assisting to oversee the Accounts department. This role will have the direct responsibility for managing company financial affairs; includes budget projection, costing analysis; financial/management reporting & Auditing. This role will start as a 6-months contract role with the potential to become permanent in future.
Duties and key responsibilities
Daily Bank Reconciliation and Process Credit card statement
Weekly GP Report and Correction
All expense booking (SG&A accruals etc)
Weekly Cashflow
Month End Preparation such as Balance sheet Reconciliation, Provision Bad Debt, Prepayment, Accrual and Payroll journal
Fixed Assets booking - Depreciation
Bad Debts Provision as per Policy
Monthly and Quarterly Report Submission as per the deadline without critical errors
Review Open Revenue and Open Estimate
Back up for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
Provide support during Budget, Audit and Other project
Other adhoc accounting tasks as directed.
Skills and Experience
Minimum 3-4 years’ work experience in Accounting in the Freight forwarding industry preferable.
Australian Citizen or Permanent Residency mandatory
Experience in Financial Accounting, Planning and Analysis essential
Degree in Accountancy and preferably pursuing CPA
Strong MS Office skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook & Accounting Software
Ability to efficiently adapt to new software systems.
High attention to detail
Excellent written and verbal communication skills & stakeholder management skills
A great attitude, proactive and self-motivated individual.
Positive attitude and strong work ethic
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Pre-existing knowledge of air and sea freight shipping terms is preferred.
Ability to function independently as required.
