Position Purpose

Financial Accountant reports to the Finance Manager, assisting to oversee the Accounts department. This role will have the direct responsibility for managing company financial affairs; includes budget projection, costing analysis; financial/management reporting & Auditing. This role will start as a 6-months contract role with the potential to become permanent in future.

Duties and key responsibilities

 

  • Daily Bank Reconciliation and Process Credit card statement

  • Weekly GP Report and Correction

  • All expense booking (SG&A accruals etc)

  • Weekly Cashflow

  • Month End Preparation such as Balance sheet Reconciliation, Provision Bad Debt, Prepayment, Accrual and Payroll journal

  • Fixed Assets booking - Depreciation

  • Bad Debts Provision as per Policy

  • Monthly and Quarterly Report Submission as per the deadline without critical errors

  • Review Open Revenue and Open Estimate

  • Back up for Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable

  • Provide support during Budget, Audit and Other project

  • Other adhoc accounting tasks as directed.

 

 Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 3-4 years’ work experience in Accounting in the Freight forwarding industry preferable.

  • Australian Citizen or Permanent Residency mandatory

  • Experience in Financial Accounting, Planning and Analysis essential

  • Degree in Accountancy and preferably pursuing CPA

  • Strong MS Office skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook & Accounting Software

  • Ability to efficiently adapt to new software systems.

  • High attention to detail

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills & stakeholder management skills

  • A great attitude, proactive and self-motivated individual.

  • Positive attitude and strong work ethic

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

  • Pre-existing knowledge of air and sea freight shipping terms is preferred.

  • Ability to function independently as required.
