Hill McGlynn Recruitment is representing a leading national logistics and retail operator in the search for a
National Facilities Manager.
This is a pivotal, hands-on leadership role responsible for maintaining and improving a high-performance network of distribution centres, offices, and operational hubs across Australia.
The Opportunity As National Facilities Manager, you’ll take ownership of all preventive and reactive maintenance programs, ensuring full compliance and operational excellence across a complex national property portfolio.
You’ll manage service providers and contractors across multiple states, working closely with operations and property leadership to ensure every site runs safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities - Preventive & Reactive Maintenance – implement national maintenance schedules, ensure rapid response to breakdowns, and extend asset life.
- Facility Standards & Compliance – uphold high presentation, cleanliness, and safety standards across all sites; ensure compliance with OH&S, building, and fire regulations.
- Servicing & Contractor Management – manage contracts across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire, cleaning, and security; oversee servicing schedules and contractor compliance.
- Lease & Make-Good Management – plan and manage make-good obligations at lease end, liaise with landlords and project teams, and minimise exit costs.
- Asset Lifecycle & Capital Works – track asset condition, prepare business cases for upgrades, and manage capital replacement programs.
- Budgeting & Cost Control – develop national facilities budgets (OPEX/CAPEX), monitor spend, and drive cost-efficiency without compromising quality.
What You’ll Bring - Proven experience leading national or multi-site facilities operations within logistics, industrial, or retail networks.
- Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance, asset management, and contractor governance.
- Demonstrated success in managing CAPEX/OPEX budgets and vendor contracts.
- Solid understanding of OH&S, compliance, and building codes.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach and strong stakeholder engagement skills.
