As we continue to grow, we are seeking an Electrical Estimator—from junior to senior level—to join our team and contribute to the delivery of complex, high-value Design & Construct projects. Whether you're building your estimating career or ready to take on larger responsibilities, we'd love to hear from you.

The Opportunity

In this role, you will prepare detailed, competitive tenders for commercial and industrial electrical projects ranging from $500K to $5M. You will work closely with suppliers and project stakeholders to develop accurate and professional submissions that support Q Power's continued success.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and interpret electrical drawings, specifications, and project documentation

• Work with internal team members on load demands, cable sizing, and system requirements

• Assist in developing infrastructure layouts, switchboards, distribution boards, and final sub-circuit designs

• Ensure compliance with lighting and emergency lighting standards

• Assess project timelines, risks, and specific client requirements

• Prepare accurate labour, material, and equipment pricing using SimPRO, GroundPlan, and Microsoft Office

• Obtain competitive supplier and subcontractor quotations

• Collaborate with the Sales Manager and General Manager on tender strategies

• Attend site visits and pre-construction meetings

• Ensure all submissions meet Australian Standards, project specifications, and safety requirements

• Maintain clear and detailed documentation for all estimates and revisions

About You

Australian work rights are required for this position.

Junior Applicants (Training Provided)

• Electrical trade qualification (Cert III Electrotechnology)

• Minimum 1-2 years of electrical trade experience is required

• Current electrical licence must be held at time of application

• Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings

• Up to 12 months estimating experience or a qualified electrician ready to transition into estimating

• Understanding of electrical materials, cable types, and lighting equipment

• Strong attention to detail, eagerness to learn, and solid communication skills

Experienced Applicants

• Demonstrated experience estimating commercial or industrial electrical projects valued $500K–$5M

• Proficiency in SimPRO, GroundPlan, and Microsoft Office

• Strong understanding of Australian electrical codes, standards, and systems

• Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills

• Ability to work both autonomously and within a collaborative team environment

What We Offer

• Competitive salary:

  • Junior Estimators: $80,000 – $90,000 + Super

  • Experienced Estimators: $100,000 – $110,000 + Super (negotiable based on capability)
