We’re excited to be partnering with our long-term client to appoint an exceptional HSE professional to join their team on an exciting 6-month renewable energy project.
Reporting into the HSE Manager, you will provide expert HSE advice to support the project, partnering with key stakeholders to ensure compliance, foster engagement, and support the smooth transition of projects from construction through to operations.
Beyond this, you’ll play a key role in:- Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive engagement and a positive HSE culture;
- Leading HSE audits and investigations, and mentoring project teams to strengthen safety outcomes;
- Supporting Project Managers with HSE reporting and proactive risk management processes;
- Ensuring effective systems are in place for incident escalation, learnings, and audits;
- Developing practical HSE management plans, training, and project-specific guidance materials; and
- Contributing to tender evaluations and technical reviews, while providing valuable HSE insights to consultancies and contractors.
About you:
The ideal candidate will thrive in a project-based environment, from construction through to operations, taking initiative to understand each site’s unique risks and opportunities. You’ll bring curiosity, practical HSE know-how, and a collaborative approach that builds trust and encourages engagement across all levels of the business.
This role will require travel to multiple sites across regional Queensland, and potentially to the Brisbane head office to meet stakeholders.
Additionally you will have:
- Relevant health and safety qualifications, coupled with experience working as an Advisor within heavy industry, resources, renewables, or energy sectors;
- Field base experience working with trades or engineering employees, with proven ability to perform HSE audits and manage investigations;
- Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders;
- Ability to identify, manage and mitigate risks across large projects from start-up to operations; and
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster change, implement improvements and work independently.
