Status:
Full time – average of 37.5 hours per week over a 6 week roster period
Role Summary:
A unique and exciting opportunity exists for an enthusiastic Scientist to rotate through our Core Laboratory departments at both our hospital site at Calvary Hospital, Lenah Valley and our main GX Hobart laboratory on a permanent full-time basis.
The role will include blood film morphology, transfusion and biochemistry .
The position will require you to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team.
The hours will vary to meet the operational & organisational requirements and will require participation in the 24/7 roster.
Selection Criteria:
Appropriately qualified – Degree in Applied Science (MLS) or recognised equivalent
Eligible for professional membership of the Australian Institute of Medical Scientists
Experience in a diagnostic laboratory with Australian industry experience
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
The ability to work in a team environment without direct supervision
An understanding of quality control techniques
Proficient, motivated and highly organised with great attention to detail
Experience in blood film morphology and/or transfusion will be considered a distinct advantage
Must be able to live and work in Australia on a permanent basis at the time of application
