ABOUT CANNINGTON

Our Cannington operation is one of the world's largest producers of silver and lead. Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville.

Flights are direct to the onsite airport, and the mine is only 3.5 km from camp—the perfect distance for a sunset walk or run home along a purpose-built walking track. The onsite accommodation includes meal services, sports/gym facilities, swimming pool, music room, and social area.

ABOUT THE ROLE

This is a Permanent position on a 7:7 day/night roster, FIFO from Brisbane, Townsville or Cairns, or DIDO from Mount Isa, Cloncurry and McKinlay Shires.

As an Auto Electrician, you will maintain and repair surface and underground mobile mining equipment, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with maintenance schedules and operational requirements.

Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:

• Perform routine maintenance and inspections on heavy mobile equipment and plant, light vehicles, electric vehicles and forklifts.
• Attend to vehicle and equipment breakdowns.
• Maintain, diagnose and repair vehicle air-conditioning systems.
• Diagnose and repair faults on advanced auto electrical circuits.

ABOUT YOU

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:

• Proficient with Caterpillar, Sandvik, Normet and Volvo underground mining equipment.
• Demonstrate competent fault finding and diagnostic principles on advanced auto electrical systems within Mobile Mining equipment.
• Experienced in conducting automotive air-conditioning servicing and repairs.
• Understanding of Mobile Mining Equipment electrical systems and software.
• A proactive safety-driven mindset, following safety protocols and promoting risk reduction.

Qualifications for this position are:

• Trade (Auto Electrician)
• Refrigerant Handling Licence
• Current C Class Driver's Licence
