Resource Industry Network (RIN) is a peak not-for-profit industry association representing companies actively engaged in the resources sector and those allied to it. We connect, develop, and promote our members to commercial decision-makers, peak bodies, and government representatives across the resources sector. Our team works collaboratively to support industry growth and deliver a high-quality program of events, advocacy, and member services.

 

We are seeking a proactive and organised Administration Officer to join our small, dedicated team in Mackay. This part-time role is perfect for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and enjoys supporting both operational and events-focused responsibilities.

 

About the Role

As the first point of contact for RIN members and visitors, you’ll help ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office and uphold a professional and welcoming environment. You will provide essential administrative and operational support, assist with coordinating large-scale and monthly events, maintain accurate records, support basic financial administration, and contribute to delivering exceptional experiences to our members and partners. You will also play a key role in supporting RIN’s exciting and innovative annual events program. Event organisation experience is highly regarded.

 

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide reception support and member assistance

  • Perform general office administration and accurate data entry

  • Support the coordination and delivery of RIN’s monthly and major events alongside our Events Officer

  • Maintain records and assist with financial administration

  • Contribute to daily operational tasks within the organisation

  • Work collaboratively within a small, resourceful team

  • Completing MSIC applications

 

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • Accuracy in data entry and record keeping

  • Financial administration skills

  • Ability to work well under pressure

  • High level of initiative and a positive, solutions-focused attitude

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft 365, Canva, Myob)

  • Willingness to learn CRM and SaaS database systems

  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to support across the organisation

 
Must be eligible for a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC).
