We're looking for an enthusiastic Community Development Coordinator to help continue bringing the Harpers Field Community Hub to life; driving programs, events and initiatives that create meaningful connections and support the wellbeing of local residents. This role will also work across the city, delivering offerings at various other places and spaces in collaboration with the rest of the Community Development and Wellbeing team.

About the Role

Reporting to the Team Leader Community Development, you will:

  • Design, coordinate, deliver and evaluate high-quality initiatives that contribute to improved community wellbeing and meet community need; specifically targeting children, youth, families and people experiencing social isolation
  • Build strong partnerships with local clubs, service providers, businesses and residents
  • Work closely with the Community Development and Wellbeing team, and wider department to deliver initiatives and projects that improve community wellbeing
  • Lead, support and empower volunteers
  • Oversee facility operations including WHS, risk, compliance and curated hire

About You

You're a creative, community-minded practitioner with a talent and drive for turning ideas into impactful initiatives. We're after someone who:

  • Has demonstrated experience in; community development, community centres or related fields.
  • Brings a growth mindset and a passion for continuous improvement.
  • Has exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver community development offerings, including programs, events, services, partnership opportunities as well as evaluation and grant applications.
  • Thrives in a collaborative, supportive team environment.
  • Is motivated by creating opportunities for people to connect, participate and grow to enhance their wellbeing.
  • Holds a Diploma in Community Services Management / Community Development, or other relevant diploma/s, or extensive equivalent industry experience.
  • Must have a valid DHS Working With Children Check, or the willingness to obtain one.
  • Is willing to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment.
  • Holds a South Australian Class C Driver's Licence.
  • Is Provide First Aid Certified.

Salary range is between $91,908 - $98,028 plus superannuation guarantee and will be negotiated commensurate with skills, experience and qualifications.
