Financial Accountant | 0.8 FTE | 6-Month Contract | Inner East of Melbourne | Not-for-Profit
A small, values-driven organisation based in Melbourne is seeking a hands-on Financial Accountant to support their Director of Finance over a 6-month period. This is a 0.8 FTE role (4 days per week), ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and being across all areas of finance.
Key Responsibilities:
You’ll be responsible for the day-to-day financial operations, including:
Bank reconciliations and cash flow management
Monthly and quarterly financial reporting
Audit preparation and liaison with external auditors
Accounts payable and receivable
Payroll processing and superannuation compliance
General ledger maintenance and journal entries
BAS preparation and lodgement
Budget monitoring and variance analysis
Supporting the Director of Finance with ad hoc financial tasks
Contributing to process improvement and documentation of finance procedures
Liaising with suppliers, internal teams, and external stakeholders
About You:
CPA/CA qualified (preferred)
Experience in small business, school or not-for-profit environments
Strong attention to detail and a proactive, collaborative approach
Comfortable working across multiple areas of finance and being hands-on at wor
