Public Sector People are working with a local government organisation who are seeking an Internal Auditor Officer on a unique 3-month contract + extension.
Full Job Description
- ASAP START | pay rates from $62p/h + super (PAYG)
- Local council | Location - Strathpine
- Initial temp contract until 30th Jan 2026 + extension
- Conversion to perm employment is very likely.
- Plan, execute, and report on internal audit engagements with a focus on project governance and delivery
- Evaluate compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements, and contractual obligations
- Provide recommendations to improve project controls, risk mitigation, and value for money
- Collaborate with project teams, PMOs, and senior stakeholders to ensure audit findings are actionable
- Support the development of the annual audit plan with a focus on high-risk projects and programs
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, Agile, PRINCE2).
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to manage multiple audit engagements and deliver results within deadlines.
