Your new role

IBAC have an exciting, new opportunity for motivated people who are looking to develop their skills and experience in an entry level investigative position. This is an ideal role for individuals with limited investigations experience - training will be provided.

Under guidance, Associate Investigators assist IBAC in its investigations into certain allegations within the Victorian public sector and Victoria Police.

Associate Investigators assist with a variety of integral processes including conducting research, gathering evidence and assisting senior team members in the preparation of complex written materials.

Duties include:

With guidance and supervision from senior members of the Investigations team, Associate Investigators will:

  • Learn the process of how to conduct investigations in accordance with legislation, procedures, and industry standards.
  • Develop and implement investigative plans outlining the process, parameters, timelines, and outputs consistent with policies and procedures under limited guidance.
  • Assist in the preparation for, and conduct of, consultations with people who may assist with investigations and identify further actions to be approved.
  • Assist with the execution of search warrants and seize exhibits in accordance with legislation and procedures.

Our requirements / Your skill set

We are looking for candidates with resilience, strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to effectively prioritise and manage workload independently.

Knowledge or experience in the public sector, regulatory bodies, or criminal and judicial systems is advantageous.

Please note that due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
