Details: The Office of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People Commissioner is seeking a Senior Case Manager. The Office for ACT Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People undertakes individual and systemic advocacy and monitoring in relation to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people in the child protection system as well as other areas where Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and their families are disproportionately represented.
The Senior Case Manager is an integral part of the Office and will work closely with staff to undertake a broad range of case management duties to assist the Office in achieving its objective to advocate for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people, and their families.
The Senior Case Manager is focused on delivering the best possible life outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children and young people and families through responsive client service underpinned by best practice trauma informed case management.
To be successful, you will demonstrate experience working with children, young people and their families in a social work/case management role, and the ability to understand and apply relevant legislation underpinning the role of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Children and Young People Commissioner.

Notes: This is an identified position in accordance with section 27(4) of the Public Sector Management Act 1994 and is only open to an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural identity is considered essential and therefore confirmation of cultural identity may be requested.
A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months.
