About the role

Foodies Kyle Bay is seeking an experienced and talented Head Chef to lead our passionate culinary team. We are due to open in the next 4 weeks and are looking for Menu ideas, imagination and creativity. This is a full-time role based in our restaurant in Kyle Bay, NSW 2221. 4 nights per week only. As Head Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations and ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality, innovative dishes that delight our guests.

What you'll be doing

• Manage and direct the kitchen team, including planning rosters, delegating tasks, and providing hands-on training and development

• Develop and refine the restaurant's menu, incorporating seasonal and local ingredients to create visually appealing and flavourful dishes

• Ensure strict adherence to food safety and hygiene standards

• Monitor kitchen inventory and place orders for supplies, staying within budget

• Collaborate with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless operations and an exceptional dining experience for our customers

• Foster a positive and productive work environment in the kitchen

What we're looking for

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Head Chef or Senior Chef in a similar high-volume, full-service restaurant environment

• Formal culinary training or qualifications, such as a Diploma in Hospitality Management or equivalent

• Demonstrated expertise in menu planning, recipe development, and food costing

• Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage and motivate a team

• Excellent time management and organisational abilities

• Passion for using fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients

• Commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene

• Specialisation in Modern Australian cuisine with proven experience in developing contemporary Australian dishes

• Must have current Australian work authorisation at time of application
