• Based in the UniSA STEM Unit at the Mawson Lakes Campus
• Full-time, continuing position
• Starting Salary: $75,496 per annum (plus 17% superannuation)

About the role 

Reporting to the Manager: Technical Services (Civil, Mechanical and Environmental), you will provide hands-on technical support across STEM’s teaching, research and commercial projects. You will design, fabricate and maintain specialised mechanical equipment, support practical classes and fieldwork, and work closely with academics, students and industry partners. You will also contribute to safety, equipment upkeep and continuous improvement across workshop and laboratory spaces.

To be successful you will need

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent experience
• Proven experience operating, maintaining and fabricating mechanical equipment, including welding, hydraulics and pneumatics
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to plan, prioritise and deliver multiple tasks
• Excellent communication and customer service skills with a collaborative approach
• Sound knowledge of WHS principles, including risk assessments and safe operating procedures
