We currently have an opportunity for a Communications Technician in Canberra to work on Joint projects.

Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Communications Technician in Canberra to work on Joint projects.
What You'll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
Executing complex communications technical and maintenance assurance activities in line with agreed priorities, milestones, and outcomes.
Exercising assigned technical authorities and ensuring compliance with technical regulatory requirements.
Providing detailed technical and maintenance advice and support to the ILSM SHFC, contributing to planning, decision-making, and sustainment outcomes.
Identifying risks, implementing corrective actions, and supporting continuous improvement in communications systems and processes.
Supporting workforce development through mentoring, technical guidance, and effective knowledge management.
Technical Expertise in Communications Systems - Proven ability to develop, assess, and assure technical packages and product performance.
Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance - Skilled in identifying risks, recommending corrective actions, and ensuring alignment with Defence safety and policy frameworks.
Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration - Strong interpersonal skills to liaise with internal Defence teams, industry partners, and suppliers to influence outcomes.
Strategic Problem-Solving and Decision-Making - Demonstrated capability to apply professional judgement and contribute to planning and sustainment decisions.
Relevant Qualifications and Experience - Higher education or vocational qualifications in a related field.
