We currently have an opportunity for a Systems Engineer Advisor in Canberra to work on Joint projects.
Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.
Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for a Systems Engineer in Canberra to work on Joint projects.
What You'll Do
This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including:
Engineering & Configuration Management: Develop and support technical and communication processes for managing the enduring OFFICIAL: Sensitive capability.
Technical Authority Role: Attain and maintain Technical Authority within the JC2SPO CAF16 engineering management system.
Cross-Team Coordination: Facilitate technical communication between ADF EFB sustainment and CAF16 Engineering teams to progress tasks.
Verification & Safety Support: Contribute to system verification/validation documentation and provide input to safety assessments and risk mitigation.
Stakeholder Engineering Support: Deliver system-related engineering advice to AWC and ADF EFB capability management representatives.
What You'll Bring
CASG Engineering & Configuration Experience: Proven engineering and configuration management experience within a CASG sustainment environment.
Systems Engineering Expertise: Familiarity with Defence-related systems engineering practices, including SEMP, certification plans, and requirements management.
Defence Documentation Skills: Experience producing high-quality technical and administrative documentation aligned with ADF standards.
Strong Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent written and oral communication skills with a focus on building stakeholder relationships.
Analytical & Innovative Thinking: Well-developed conceptual skills and the ability to apply innovative solutions to benefit Defence stakeholders.
Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
