We are seeking a qualified, passionate, and experienced Cook/Kitchen Coordinator to join our team. This is a permanent full-time opportunity across Monday to Friday, with starting times between 6:30am to 7:00am.

YOUR OPPORTUNITYAs our Cook/Kitchen Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in preparing nutritious and culturally inclusive morning and afternoon teas for up to 175 children daily. You will collaborate closely with management, educators and families to design age-appropriate menus that reflect the children’s interests and meet specific dietary requirements. Your thoughtful, seasonal meal planning must support their overall health and wellbeing.
You’ll also take ownership of kitchen operations, including:
managing all aspects of kitchen operations, ensuring strict compliance with food safety and regulatory standards,
overseeing food ordering and inventory, and adhering to budget guidelines with a focus on sustainability and waste reduction

ABOUT YOUWe require you to have the following:
Qualification in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality (minimum Certificate III) is essential
Proven experience working as a chef or cook, preferably within an Early Learning setting or catering/hospitality industry
Availability to work Full-time (38hrs) Monday to Friday - 6:30am to 7am start
Proven ability to prepare meals accommodating a variety of dietary requirements, including allergies and cultural considerations
Strong understanding of child nutrition and age-appropriate dietary requirements
Strong time management skills and proven ability to work independently
Demonstrated competence in using IT systems to plan menus, manage inventory, and streamline ordering processes (Microsoft Apps preferred)
An approved Food Safety Supervisor’s Certification and Food Handling Certificate (or ability to obtain these certifications)
Hold a Valid Positive Notice QLD Blue Card from Blue Card Services, Public Safety Business Agency (or be willing to obtain this card)
Ability to provide two professional references preferably from an early childhood setting or hospitality business.
