Salary range $74,799 - $82,811 plus statutory superannuation

About the role

The Teacher Engagement and Registration Officer role offers an outstanding career opportunity for a professional who is passionate about using their expertise to support VIT in its regulation of Victorian teachers.

The Teacher Engagement and Registration Branch is responsible for inbound stakeholder engagement, primarily through a contact centre (phone and email). The Branch is also responsible for the assessment of applications for teacher and early childhood teacher registration in Victoria.

Reporting to a Team Leader, the role handles telephone and email enquiries from applicants, teachers, principals, early childhood managers, employers and members of the public. The role will also require the assessment of teacher registration applications, in line with legislative and policy requirements.

Contact centre work may be undertaken under a scheduled roster model.

Key accountabilities include: 

  • explaining concepts and policy positions to teachers, principals, early childhood leaders, employers and other stakeholders in relation to queries regarding teacher registration and related applications
  • identifying and proposing workable solutions to problems
  • initiating improvements to process delivery in the Branch
  • effectively utilising existing systems to capture and record registration activities, and contribute to the development of VIT business systems.

About you

As an experienced customer service, contact centre and / or application assessment professional, you will have experience in dealing effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and ideally a passion for child safety and experience working within the education sector.

You will have strong communication skills combined with a highly organised approach and a proven track record in delivering superior customer service via phones and email. In addition to this, as the successful candidate, you will have:

  • demonstrated problem solving skills, underpinned by sound analytical capability
  • demonstrated ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships
  • able to demonstrate flexibility, resilience and a strong attention to detail
  • experience in a high-volume customer service environment would be highly regarded
  • experience in a registration, license or membership processing environment requiring the application of legislation and/or policy is desirable.
