Contract Manager – Cables

Location: Office based. (Melbourne, Traralgon or Hobart)

As we continue to advance this nationally significant project, we are seeking a strategic and solutions-focused Contract Manager to lead contract administration and deliver best-practice outcomes for our Cables Project.

This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced contract management professional who thrives on complex problem-solving, risk mitigation, and stakeholder engagement. You will play a critical role in ensuring contractual compliance and driving value across one of Australia’s most significant renewable energy infrastructure projects.

Your Role

As Contract Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end contract lifecycle for major project contracts, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational standards. You will provide senior advice on complex contractual issues, manage risks, and support the Cables Director in achieving optimal project outcomes. Your leadership will ensure contract principles are embedded into strategic and operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Contract Lifecycle Management - Develop and implement contract management plans, oversee variations, extensions, and claims, and ensure compliance with standards and procedures.

• Stakeholder Coordination & Conflict Resolution - Act as the central communication hub, fostering strong relationships with contractors and internal teams, and guiding conflict resolution.

• Risk Management & Compliance - Identify and mitigate contractual, financial, and operational risks, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.

• Leadership & Capability Building - Lead and develop contract administration team members, champion best practices, and drive process improvements.

• Reporting & Analysis - Monitor contract performance, generate reports, and provide insights to senior executives and governance bodies.

You’ll Bring

• Comprehensive experience in contract management for major infrastructure projects, ideally within a regulated environment.

• Strong knowledge of contract principles, governance, and risk management.

• Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Law, Construction Management, or a related field.

• Proven ability to negotiate positive outcomes, manage complex issues, and influence stakeholders at all levels.

• Familiarity with Incentive Target Cost (ITC) and EPC contracts (desirable).

• Advanced communication skills and proficiency in document management systems (e.g., InEight, Teambinder).
