The Opportunity

As the Maintenance Leading Hand, you will lead our team of Maintenance Officers. In this role you will manage programmed works, oversee asset and infrastructure maintenance, and provide technical and operational support. You will have a sound knowledge of maintenance activities, OH&S, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to manage competing demands.

Key responsibilities

  • Carry out maintenance and minor upgrades of Council assets (kerbs, footpaths, parks, signage, shelters, playgrounds)
  • Undertake inspections and routine servicing of structures and equipment
  • Adhere to Occupational Health and Safety policies and procedures
  • Operate minor plant and tools as required and service equipment
  • Assist with other works and support a positive, customer-focused team culture
  • Provide leadership to the maintenance crew

This is a permanent full-time role based from the Bruce Road, Kalimna West depot.

  • Things You're Proud Of (Key Selection Criteria)
  • Qualifications and / or experience in asset maintenance.
  • Current Victorian Driver's license "MR" Truck as a minimum.
  • Ability to work non-standard hours and at various locations as required.
  • To be physically able to perform the duties of the position.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with little or no supervision.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with team members and the public.
  • Qualifications or experience in traffic management regulations.

If successful, you will need to undertake a police check and pre-employment medical. You must also be legally entitled to work in Australia.
