Your new role

As a Senior Engineer - Road and Vacuum Tankers, you will be a skilled and motivated professional who is confident in leading the design and delivery of road tanker and vacuum tanker equipment for bulk material transport. Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, you will

• Lead engineering projects, coordinating with the manufacturing and supply chain teams to meet delivery timelines
• Conduct requirements analysis through engagement with sales team and clients, translating operational needs into technical deliverables
• Oversee the sourcing and production process, proactively resolving issues and collaborating directly with the manufacturing staff
• Perform final inspections to ensure products meet specifications and are fit for purpose
• Develop engineering designs including 3D modelling, FEA, 2D drafting, and schematic layouts (hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical)
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards and regulations, including ADRs, AS2809, AS1210, and NHVR PBS
• Prepare detailed design reports documenting technical analysis and findings
• Facilitate design reviews with key stakeholders with attention to compliance, DFM and DFS.
• Conduct mass optimisation and weight distribution analysis to maximise payload efficiency

What you'll need to succeed

• Bachelor of Engineering - Mechanical or similar, recognised by IEAust
• Minimum of 5 years experience designing products for the transport industry
• Minimum of 5 years experience in AS2809 Road Tank vehicles for dangerous goods and AS1210 pressure vessels
• Expertise in 3D modelling and 2D drawing using SolidWorks
• Proficient with FEA
• Proficient with NHVR Performance Based Standards
• Hard-working with a "can-do" attitude
