At MSS Security, we are dedicated to fostering a safe and secure environment for our client. Our team is seeking a skilled Security Contract Manager to manage the delivery of Security Services across The University of Melbourne Campuses in Victoria.

About the role

We are hiring a Site-Based Contract Manager, predominantly based in Parkville, for a full-time, permanent position (40 hours per week, 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM). This role involves leading a team of 50-60 security officers and supervisors to ensure they deliver a quality service to meet client expectations across multiple campuses. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills and a solid background in contract management within the security sector.

Ideally, they will also have experience of working within education or other government sites.

Key duties and responsibilities:

  • Monitor, plan and active engagement in any special security events or incidents
  • Ongoing reviews of guards including in the field reviews
  • Provide insights/recommendations on service improvement opportunities and sector best practice
  • Support innovation to affirm ongoing best practices
  • Identify risks, trend identification and appropriate mitigation strategies
  • Frequent interaction and meetings with the guarding cohort
  • First line management of Supervisors on all campuses
  • Second line management of security officers on all campuses
  • Driving KPI performance
  • Customer liaison management
  • Contractual compliance
  • Quality of Service delivery
  • Production of monthly and quarterly contract reports
  • Invoice review and approval
  • Roster management
  • Manage oversight of recruitment
  • Production, review and revision of SOP's
  • Compliance audits
  • Production of monthly and quarterly reports
  • Date review for invoicing purposes
  • Stakeholder liaison
  • Management and response to customer complaints
  • Management of staff performance and attendance
  • Planning and execution of security contingency exercises
  • Development of continuous improvement strategies

Skills & experience

  • Full Australian Working Rights
  • Victorian Security licence.
  • Cert III or higher in security operations
  • Working with children's check (or willing to obtain)
  • Valid Victorian drivers licence
  • First Aid & CPR (or willing to obtain)
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Past experience in an educational or other government setting is desired.
  • Proven experience in team management and operational security
  • Sound understanding of contractual environment.
  • Experience in protest management, conflict resolution and emergency response
  • Ability to balance operational requirements
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Culturally aware and sensitive to diverse populations
  • Calm, decisive and effective under pressure
