Are you ready to take the next step in leadership? Kentish Early Learning Centre Big Rivers is seeking a dedicated Assistant Centre Director to support our vibrant team and ensure the delivery of high-quality care and education.

About Us:
Kentish Early Learning Centre Big Rivers, a state-of-the-art centre that opened in early 2023, is located in Katherine East. Kentish Community Services Limited is a community-based, not-for-profit organisation providing nurturing and educational care for children across the Northern Territory, from birth to eighteen years. Our programs include:

  • Home-based family day care

  • Out-of-home care

  • Centre-based long day care

  • Outside school hours care (OSHC)

We pride ourselves on creating safe, nurturing environments where children can develop literacy, creativity, problem-solving, numeracy, language, and social skills. With over 31 years of experience, we are a trusted, member-based organisation committed to our vision: “Positive outcomes for all children, young people and communities”.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in the Early Childhood sector.

  • Experience managing staff

  • Excellent understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF).

  • Flexible availability, including rotating shifts (opening to closing hours).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Centre Director in the daily management and leadership of the centre

  • Act as the Centre Director during their long absences

  • Assist in implementing the National Quality Standards and curriculum frameworks

  • Oversee the programs and support educators with the planning cycle

  • Mentor and support educators, fostering professional development and a positive team culture

  • Contribute to operational planning, staff rostering, and compliance with regulations

  • Build strong relationships with families, children, and the community

  • Assist our Casuarina Street OSHC program


Mandatory Qualifications:

  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care.

  • Current Senior Early Childhood First Aid and CPR certificate.

  • Asthma and Anaphylaxis Management Training

  • National Police Clearance.

  • Current Working with Children’s Card.

  • Child protection certificate

Work Hours & Conditions:

  • Flexible hours between 7:00 AM and 5:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
