Summary:
Saliba is a boutique agency based in Thornleigh, known for delivering an exceptional client experience and maintaining a high standard of professionalism in every aspect of our business. We are seeking a detail-driven and highly organised Trust Accountant to join our close-knit team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all trust accounting functions, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements, maintaining the integrity of our trust accounts and providing exceptional internal support to our sales and property management teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of trust accounting for sales, property management, and general accounts
- Process daily receipts, disbursements, and reconciliations in line with legislative and agency requirements
- Prepare and lodge monthly trust account reconciliations and audits
- Maintain compliance with NSW Fair Trading and relevant trust account legislation
- Generate financial reports and provide insights to management and team leaders
- Oversee settlements, bonds, refunds, and payments to landlords, vendors, and suppliers
- Liaise with auditors, external accountants, and internal departments as required
- Implement and maintain best practices in financial systems and trust management
- Assist with mid-month and end-of-month processing and reporting
- Reconcile and process marketing payments
- Contribute to improving operational efficiency across accounting functions
Qualifications:
- Minimum 1 year's experience in real estate trust accounting
- Strong understanding of NSW Fair Trading trust account regulations
- Experience using real estate accounting software such as Property Me and Agent Box
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to prioritise tasks and meet strict deadlines
- High level of integrity and professionalism
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
