About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Accountant to join our finance team in Marrickville, NSW. The successful candidate will manage the company's accounting systems, prepare financial statements, and ensure compliance with taxation and financial reporting standards. Key Responsibilities:

• Formulate and implement accounting and budgetary policies to ensure sound financial control.

• Prepare and analyse financial statements and management reports for internal and external stakeholders.

• Conduct financial investigations and internal audits, and prepare analytical reports on business performance.

• Examine operating costs, income, and expenditure to improve profitability and efficiency.

• Provide assurance on financial accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.

• Offer taxation and financial advice on business operations, structures, and investment plans.

• Prepare and lodge taxation returns and manage compliance with ATO requirements.

• Liaise with financial institutions, auditors, and external advisors regarding financial matters.

• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting systems, including MYOB/Xero and other software tools.

• Evaluate cash flow, manage budgets, and identify potential financial risks.

• Ensure accurate record-keeping, payroll management, and adherence to Australian Accounting Standards (AASB/IFRS).

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (minimum AQF Level 7).

• Minimum 1 years of relevant accounting experience in a commercial environment.

• Proficiency in Xero accounting software is essential for this position.

• Sound knowledge of Australian taxation, payroll, and reporting requirements.

• Membership or eligibility for CPA/CA ANZ accreditation will be highly regarded.
